Childhaven International is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation dedicated to helping destitute children escape the cycle of hunger, sickness, and lack of education that plague their lives. Many third-world boys turn to a life of crime and girls to a life of prostitution to be able to survive. Since 1992, Childhaven International has helped scores of desperate children escape poverty and get the education needed to get good jobs and become productive citizens. Your donations can give hope, health, and happiness to some of these poverty-stricken children.

At age 6, little Jennifer became destitute when her father, a farm worker in Honduras, inhaled too much of the fumes of a herbicide he was spraying on a field and died an agonizing death. Jennifer’s mother had no skills and had to start taking in laundry to buy a little food. With no money for rent, a local church allowed Jennifer and her mother to live in a one-room shed that was attached to the back of their church building. Childhaven International learned of their plight and took on the support of Jennifer with monthly food money, medical expenses, school expenses, and a gift for her birthday and at Christmas. Jennifer now is getting a good education, is in good health, is a happy girl who has hope for a bright future – because of the help that caring people are giving her through Childhaven International.

Gabriela and Darwin are thrilled with the toys that they received from Childhaven International, along with vitamins and clothes. Abandoned by their mother, Gabriela and Darwin were forced to live with a grandmother, who could give them an abundance of love but very little of life’s necessities. They had no hope of an education, medical attention, or even enough food to help them grow into healthy adulthood. Childhaven International learned of their critical need and enrolled them for monthly support, medical attention, payment of school expenses, and birthday and Christmas gifts. Both of these precious children now have a life of hope and happiness – because there are generous people who care.

Sweet, precious Heydi was added to the rolls of Childhaven International at age 4. Now at age 5, she will be able to attend school because Childhaven International will buy her the shoes, school uniform, and school supplies that she could not otherwise afford. She also receives monthly support that allows her to have nutritious food that will help keep her healthy, as well as medical attention when needed. Heydi will not be forced to roam streets scavenging bits of food and will not – when she is older – have to sell her body in order to survive, as so many girls in third-world countries do. Heydi now has hope of a bright future – because the hearts of generous and caring people are touched by her needs.

CHILDHAVEN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM SUCCESS
Working primarily in Honduras, the second-poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere, scores of destitute children have been helped. Students are now graduating from high school with an education that enables them to provide support for themselves and their extended family, as well. The first to graduate was Karen, daughter of a cancer-stricken father, whose entire income was required to buy his own medical care and basic foods. Karen is now employed by a major bank in Danlí, El Paraíso, Honduras, and has a bright future, thanks to the education she received with the help of Childhaven International.

Sara was the second to graduate. Sara’s father suffered a stroke that left him unable to provide for his family. He later became blind and suffered greatly from an inoperable brain tumor, and he recently passed away. Sara had no hope of continuing her education and was destined to stay in the same cycle of poverty her parents had known. But Childhaven International paid for Sara’s education and provided monthly support for food. Sara is now qualified for a good job in business and will be able to support herself, as well as her mother and little brother.

Others soon to graduate include Noé, Rocío, Gemima, and Ialmara. These, too, will be knowledgeable, productive citizens, who will have escaped a life of poverty because of the help given to them by concerned and caring people.

Childhaven International is currently providing funds to enable other children in Honduras to attend elementary school and high school. Scores of others are on a waiting list and will be helped as funds become available. And there are hundreds of destitute children in other nations that need help. You can make a tremendous difference in the lives of these children by sending a donation to help other destitute children who are waiting for your generosity.
